Build Each Other Up
Build Each Other Up is a Sound Bite skit that your kids can record at home for use in a virtual, online worship service.
Anybody out there good at building things with Duplos or building blocks? Kids will start this Sound Bite by building a tower and then connect that to the importance of “encouraging one another and building each other up” (I Thessalonians 5:11).
(NOTE: While we were sheltering due to Covid 19, individual families recorded these Sound Bites in their homes using their phones.)
Theme: Build each other up
Characters: Narrator and 1-2 children
Performance time: 1-2 minutes
Here’s a Build Each Other Up script excerpt:
(have children construct a tower & choose an action figure before the recording begins; introduce children that are in the video)
Narrator: Did you know that building blocks can make a Bible verse come to life? It’s true! Let’s show everyone how it works. We started by building a tower.
(child places tower or sits down beside tower; camera slowly pans from bottom to top of tower)
I Thessalonians 5:11 says “Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing” Today we want to encourage everyone to climb to the top of the tower so they can share the view they get from the top.
(children hold action figures)
Show us who you are holding and then place them on the tower.
(children show action figures to camera then one action figure is placed at top of tower & one action figure is placed at bottom of tower; action figure on bottom looks up as action figure on top of tower looks down)
Looks like someone needs an encourager and a builder upper! The best way to encourage someone is to come along side of them.
