Takin’ It Through the Day

40-Minute Musical
Item #3500a – Digital format

Item #3500b – Paper copy

Takin’ It Through the Day is a Christian musical for teens that includes a humorous script with 24 speaking parts and 9 contemporary songs.

Takin’ It Through the Day invites teens to take a humorous and practical look at reading the Bible every day and then allowing what they’ve read, to shape their attitude toward daily life. Join a church youth group as they take on the challenge of memorizing a Bible verse and putting that verse into practice. You’ll spend the day with:
. . . a teenager who thinks sticky notes will be a helpful tool for memorizing scripture,
. . . a young person who is decked out in God’s armor,
. . . a worry-er who is hoping to become an ex-worry-er,
. . . a youth who’s learning to be content,
. . . and an entire youth group that longs to be attentive to God’s still, small voice and precious, holy counsel.

Captive audience

We found this musical to be a great and innovative way for our counseling staff to get the Gospel message through to our campers. They were a captive audience all summer and many stated the musical had been one of the highlights of the week.

Enjoyed it very much

My youth choir presented Takin’ It Through the Day and both the choir and congregation enjoyed it very much.  They said it was the best one we’ve done.  It is difficult to find musicals for this age, so thank you!

Every piece of music

We used Takin’ It Through the Day for music camp and had a WONDERFUL week. The kids and I totally enjoyed each and every piece of music. I really like the ‘biblical’ foundation of the text and music. I will need another musical for next year’s camp, so keep on writing!

Did a fantastic job

Our 7th and 8th graders performed Takin’ It Through the Day and they did a FANTASTIC job!  Thank you for writing such great God-honoring music and a great script.  I hope you will continue to compose more musicals for teens, as this really fills a niche.

Inspirational

Our cast members had so much fun with Takin’ It Through the Day last spring. Your music is great and the messages are inspirational. Thanks for sharing your talents with us so we can share the word with others!

Joyful

What I liked about it was its Biblical foundation. It was joyful and interesting while at the same time substantive. I noticed the joy that the young people exhibited as they entered into this musical. It seemed like it spoke to them as well as to those of us who were in the congregation.

Different styles of music

We are really excited to perform Takin’ It Through the Day.  We love the different styles of music and that the script is simple and we can adapt it to our needs.  Thank you, Cathy!
