Here’s a Ten Thankful People script excerpt:
(priest is center stage with a pail; Jesus is stage right; sick people with hankies are in a line across the front)
Narrator:   So Jesus told them to get up, go to the priest and tell the priest that they weren’t sick anymore.
(Jesus points to priest with the pail)
As the sick people ran to the priest, they were no longer sick.
(sick people jump up & down and cheer for joy)
Jesus had made them well!  Let’s count all of the people who are no longer sick.  1
(#1 places hanky in the priest’s pail, jumps for joy and runs down center aisle to exit)
2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10.
(one by one, each sick person places their hanky in pail, makes some sort of exclamation to celebrate being well – all right, wahoo, YES!, jump, twirl, cartwheel – as the audience counts)
Then one of the people who was no longer sick, went back to say thank you to Jesus for making him/her well.
(one sick person comes running back up the center aisle, walks over to Jesus & shakes Jesus’ hand or hugs him)
That made Jesus very happy.
(sick person & Jesus freeze in place)
In this story, everyone was thankful . . . they just forgot to say it!  May this day, and the entire year, find you thankful for the times when you are doing great.  And may this day, and the entire year, also find you thankful for the tissues, and the hot tea, and the people who show up to help you get through the times when you are not doing great.  Remember to be thankful!
(full skit and song are approximately 5 minutes long)
